Cor van Empel & Michael Bossom are the energy behind Arts Encaustic International |

| Michael Bossom started working with wax in 1986/7. After more
than 4 years of developing the techniques and marketing of Encaustic Art
he invited Cor van Empel to come and meet him in Wales. Cor soon became
deeply interested in the possibilities that encaustic showed. His business
as an International specialist schools supplier offered a very good platform
for initial exploration of markets and then distribution of the products.
Cor funded Michael's first Video in the Autumn of 1991 and things grew from there. The starter sets were developed to offer the necessary materials to those who wanted to experience the fascination of this encaustic activity for themselves. Low-heat controlled tools were specified and manufactured to enable safe and effective use of the waxes. Soon the international business was on its way. Together Cor and Michael have caused the spread of their encaustic art which uses a small iron as the main tool, to spread around the globe. This web site is a continuation of that work. |
