Our Encaustic Painting Irons are very reliable. If yours is an older model with a dual voltage switch and stops working please check this first because it is the problem 99% of the time...

Check that the dual voltage switch is in the right place - sometimes, if the iron is knocked or dropped, the switch can move out of place.

How to check for 240volt supply:
1. Do NOT plug the iron into any electrical supply - remove the plug from any socket.
2. Look at the back edge of the iron and see the switch with 120v at the left side and 240v at the right.
3. use a small screwdriver or ball point pen tip (or something similar) to put into the slotted black switch, then try to push it over more towards the 240v right hand side.
4. If it moves at all then plug the socket in to your supply and test for heating.
5. If it does not heat or does not move, again take out the power supply plug, then move the dual voltage switch over to the 120v side and THEN BACK AGAIN to the 240v side. This can help clean the contact between the electrical parts in the switch. Finish with the switch hard to the right 240v side again. Test it.
